“PORUCH” with Youth Entrepreneurship in Baku

On May 2nd — 10th NGO Poruch” participated in the International training “Get Ready for Life – Youth Entrepreneurship Education for Personal Development” which took place in Baku, Azerbaijan. The event was organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sport of Azerbaijan Republic, Azerbaijan Youth Foundation under the President of Azerbaijan Republic, the Council of State Support to NGOs under the President of Azerbaijan Republic and European Commission – the Youth in Action  program.

The training course was aimed to make youth workers familiar with concepts, approaches, and methodologies of youth entrepreneurship education to foster the conceptual understanding on means, measures and effects of entrepreneurship education.

The key aspects of the course was an entrepreneurship education for soft skill development (communication skills, teamwork and collaboration, adaptability, problem solving, critical observation, conflict resolution) and entrepreneurial thinking.

The agenda included a wide spectrum of activities — from lections to outdoor challenges. Among the participants, there were representatives of student’s unions, non-governmental organizations, and associations from Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Lithuania, and Ukraine.

Participants had chance to develop useful skills in design, crowdfunding, project management, and entrepreneurship during team workshops and games like “startup theater”, outdoor challenge  “refusal therapy” and “shark tank” role play. During the project the groups also had to develop their own start-up idea, present it to other participants and to strangers as a part of “elevator pitch” exercise.

Cultural evenings were another essential part of the project. Participants discovered a lot of interesting facts about Azerbaijan and other represented countries, tasted national cuisine dishes, learned a lot about folk music, dances and had a great time in a very friendly and cozy informal atmosphere.
