On January 24^th – 28^th NGO “Poruch” expert Nadiia Hovorun participated in the International Forum “Youth Career Opportunities: Azerbaijan Model” held in Baku. The event was organized by the Azerbaijan Democratic Student & Youth Organization (ADSYO) with the financial support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation founded under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan to promote the activities aimed at science, education, culture and other social issues related to youth policy.

The Forum agenda included a great range of exciting and efficient activities as well as useful meetings. Among the participants there were representatives of youth associations, non-governmental organizations and other related institutions from Azerbaijan, Finland, Georgia, Italy, Moldova, Poland, Romania, Russia, Turkey and Ukraine. They had study visits to the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation and the ASAN Center in Baku, discussed achievements and challenges in the field of youth career in their countries and shared the experience of youth employment in both state and private sectors. Also, the youngest Forum participants improved their practical skills during various workshops and stimulating games such as “SWOT Analysis of a Young Professional”, “Elevator Pitch”, “Job Interview” and others held by more experienced experts. They also practised “creating” their own start-ups and social enterprises.

The intercultural evening became the zest of the informal part of the Forum. The participants found out more about history and modern life in Azerbaijan, presented their countries, learnt national dances, tasted delicacies of national cuisines and enjoyed warm and friendly atmosphere of the evening.

Due to fatigueless godmother of the Forum Gulnara Bagirova, ADSYO Deputy Chair, the guests not only had the opportunity to do Baku sightseeing, experience the breath-taking views of old and modern city highlights on the coast of the boundless Caspian Sea and mouth-watering Azerbaijan dishes but also received a lot of memorable presents, warm greetings and hugs in the Land of Fires.

 

Obviously, such events are very important for studying effective cases of youth career in different countries and for fostering closer relationships and productive cooperation between the participating parties.

 

NGO “Poruch” definitely shares the values of the ADSYO in raising socially active and successful young generation. We are open for further exchange of expertise as well as youth internship programs.
